Dr. Billie McConnellHonorary Member Higher Education Rep | Dr. Billie McConnell is the Chair for the School of Education at Oklahoma Christian University and has served in the Educational Technology space for 38 years. One of his passions is helping teachers create engaging, technology-rich classrooms. At the K12 level, he taught technology applications, computer science, design thinking, and math classes. Dr. McConnell has also served as a Principal, Head of School, Director of Instruction & Technology, and K12 consultant. As a Director of Instruction & Technology, he implemented and managed a 1 to 1 laptop program. As a consultant, Dr. McConnell worked with many schools to create a shared vision and plan for implementing technology, including professional learning programs for teachers and administrators. As an assistant and associate professor, he was the Director of a K12 Digital Learning Institute, taught in Educational Preparation Programs, and multiple courses in Educational Technology and Leadership at the Masters level and Doctoral level. Dr. McConnell has an Ed.D. in Educational Technology, an M.S. in Computer Education & Cognitive Systems, a B.S.Ed. in Education, and a Graduate Certificate in Competency-Based Education. |
